Brain fart...

I literally had a brain fart today.

I was doing my usual lecturing in class and all of a sudden, I went blank - brain fart!!  I had no idea what words were coming out of my mouth with 60 something students sitting in the audience.  I couldn't control what I was trying to say...my mind was all over the place....I was distracted.

Dang!

That's the first time it has happened to me and NOW, I know what it must be like for people who have public speaking phobia.  Now I know why they get so nervous and jumble their words.  Now I know how embarrassed they must feel....

.....because I experienced all of that today.  And I really really want to hide under a rock or take an eraser and start over again.

OMG.....I know, I know...my rational mind tells me that it's probably not as bad as it seems and that students will probably forgot all about it.  But still....I haven't been able to recover from it yet....and probably won't until next week when I redeem myself.
