Ungrateful?

It's been said that teaching (perhaps including professors) is one of the most underrated and unappreciated professions.  I agree.

I can relate to this now that I've been teaching for 3 and more years.  If you include my TA days, that will make it 7 years of teaching in total.

I've been sick for the past few days - common flu - so, there's the runny rose, headache, fever, cold sweats....everything. 

Yet, I still managed to get up today and lecture.  Forced myself into my heels and put on a good show.  And what happened?

What HAPPENED???

The guy that was sitting front and center starts yawing, looking bored, and eventually fell asleep.  No shame about it whatsoever.

I was quite annoyed, but obviously I didn't say anything and let it go.

So, I can't wait until the terms is over and when I am done - done with teaching.  Hopefully, I will never need to teach under similar circumstances ever again!!!
