Lunching style, Happy Meals
Went out to lunch for the 2nd consecutive day today and I have to say, I think I may have found my preferred lunching style. Both yesterday and today, I had lunch with my colleagues and I enjoyed my second lunch so much more than my first one.
In the latter occasion, I didn't feel the need to fill up the silent gaps in between conversations. I can relax my mind and let it wonder off until the conversation picks up again. There was no pressure to say something, anything, and it was just the simple let's do lunch and enjoy a meal together.
I can also start up any topics and go off in any direction without worrying about whether the conversation will come to a point or arrive at a socially appropriate place. I can just share what's on my mind without calculating anything. It was liberating.
And I realize that's what I appreciate most in a relationship. Recall the great lunch that Chris and I had at McDonalds 2 weeks ago. It was an ordinary lunch at McD's, nothing fancy, significant, but I knew that both of us had a GREAT time. It was just the two of us at the corner stools; me with my McWings (which were really yummy) and him with his Big Mac meal and we enjoyed the meal thoroughly. Everything was just easy.
=) And that is indeed what I like. Yah!!
