Not a happy meal

Valentine's day weekend...and all plans fell through.  Not a surprise, quite expected anticipated.

His crazy boss arranged a bunch of meetings leading up to the weekend, including a Saturday lunch.  Then, a coworker had a brilliant idea to invite all the staff for a Saturday dinner.  What an idiot.  I want to smack some senses into her head.

I get so worked up just thinking about it.  I don't think I am being insensitive or not-understanding.  In fact, I perfectly understand that work is work and fun is fun.  I get that we have responsibilities at work and we should focus.  But I also expect that once work is done, then that is the end of it.

No, Saturday work dinners are not fun.
No, Sunday meetings are not fun.
No, this is not considered as normal office culture.
AND definitely, NO, this is not considered as a healthy and productive office culture.

I hate that our relationship is always a dependent variable to his work schedule.  I hate that the relationship has become a residual matter.  A relationship should not be residual matter.

I hate everything about his work.
I hate the people that work in his office.
AND I absolutely despise the people who control his schedule.
