So, the weekend was nice, time well spent, if we can put it that way.
Chris and I didn't do anything really. Chris was on an extra shift on Saturday and so I went to see him on Sunday, which was about 3 hours away from my place.
Not that far. Not too bad.
Besides, I think I've gotten used to the commuting by now. That's how it is in our relationship. With me being in one place, him in a nearby city, my parents and his parents in totally different continents, travel is the name of our game. And it's nice. I feel like it really keeps us on our toes. Keeps the dust from settling too much. =)
We chilled out on Sunday. He ordered us some really good take-outs (my first time trying and now I am hooked!) and we watched a bunch of soap operas and TV shows.
He kept asking me: Is this OK for you? Is it boring that we can't go anywhere?
I said: No, it's fine. It's relaxing. The food is good and the TV is good, everything is good.
I think he just felt a bit guilty that we couldn't go out (because he was on duty), but to me, it was a great way to just stay in and relax. I think he didn't worry too much at the end seeing that I was truly quite content of being a homebody.
On another note, Chris and I were reading some magazines a few weeks ago and he noticed that all of the watches or clocks that you see in advertisements all show the same time, i.e. 10:10 or 10:09. And he asked me if I knew the reason why. Of course, I didn't know and I said I would google it to find the answer.
Well, a few weeks have since passed and I finally remembered to do it. And do you know what I found? Well, it wasn't as exciting or as conspiracy theory as I had hoped, but it sort of made sense anyway.
Putting the time at 10:10 highlights the logo or the brand of the watch. Most watches put their name and logo near the center anyway, so having the arms at 10 and 2 acts like brackets, which emphasizes and draws your eye to the logo/brand.
Another reason cited was that Lincoln died or was shot at 10:15. However, I find that to be a bit of a wonky explanation. So, I much prefer the marketing reason above.
And that's that. A bit of a weird post, but that's what happened on our weekend =)
Take care, y'all.
