Instead of my usual signature hot chocolate no whipped cream, I ordered a tall caramel macchiato today. That's a significant change for me because I almost ALWAYS order the hot chocolate. But today, I decided to try something new. And it was good, taste not bad. Now I have an alternative when I want something less sweet and with more caffeine.
And as I was walking home today, the marriage questions popped into my head again. A lot of people wrote on Chris' facebook today to wish him a happy birthday. A few of them (mostly family members) said they look forward to hearing good news from him - aka the 'We are getting married' announcement.
It seems like the more people want us to get married, the more I want to delay it. Why do they think marriage is the natural step? Of course, I wan to get married - I never said I will not marry - but I just want to rationalize this.
Should there always be such an urgency for marriage for couples who have dated for more than say 2 years?
And for those who you who are married, how do you decided when is the right time to get married? What is that threshold? Because I think I need that extra push. Right now, I'm not feeling it.
Chris and I talked on the phone this afternoon. I said to him that I will turn 30 next year - OMG! To which he replied, should we do something for the 30th birthday to mark that significant birthday? Though I did not answer him directly, I think he was implying that we get married.
Hum.......................................clear this up for me, will ya?
