Unexpected Visitor
It's that time of the year again ----- EXAM time!
I had the rare opportunity to snap this photo of an empty examination hall just minutes before the students came rushing in for their exams. This was Monday night and the exam was schedule from 6:30 to 8:30. Killer. I'm glad those days are pretty much over for me. But you know, never say never.
A lot of things happened this past week.
First of all, I went to the government offices to book an appointment to register our marriage. It was one of the most nerve wracking experiences ever for me. I don't know why. It's quite a simple process actually - just go to the counter, fill out some forms, make the payment, and select the registration date. But for some reason, I was so nervous to the point where I actually thought long and hard about what I was going to wear.
I mean, well, it's no trivial thing. I had just set the date of our marriage....March 16th!! And as of 11:45 that morning, Chris and I will be officially married under the law. So, it's pretty significant.
The second piece of news of the week is that my friend - the one who is the most unlikely to get married - is engaged. She informed me via email with a photo of her fiance's cat attached. Why the cat? It's not even cute. I don't even like her fiance. I met him once and didn't have a good impression of him. Hum...........
Third piece of news and this is about the unexpected visitor. A childhood friend of mine who I haven't seen or talked to for 15 years facebooked me and said that he's in town. First of all, what is he doing in this part of the world and second of all, he wants to meet up? What?
I, for some reason, feel a bit uneasy about that. It's a long story. So I told Chris about it and I'm still deciding if we should go or not. I say we because I would never meet up with him alone. Again, long story.
I feel like the holidays are always the crazy / wacky time of the year. Strange things happen more often than any other time of the year. Don't you think??
